Is MW4 DMZ supposed to feature a story?

Yes. MW4 DMZ's story follows the power vacuum in Hajin after the Supreme Leader's fall, with Orders delivering narrative intel and Story Missions taking you into dedicated operations against the new threat.

Orders are page-based objectives managed at the FOB. Story Missions have their own briefings, objectives and rewards under Deploy. Check both before heading out: a Story Mission can also advance your current Orders, so you can work on both in one deployment.

What is the MW4 DMZ first mission?

Your first onboarding mission is Breaking New Ground, while your first Orders page starts with Gear Up → Crack Shot → First OP. After onboarding, recruit an operator and reach the FOB to prepare for the mission tree.

1. Gear Up: equip a weapon, backpack, armor vest and medkit from your stash at Stash/Loadout.
2. Crack Shot: knock down three firing-range targets with your equipped weapon.
3. First OP: select Dynamic Operations at Deploy and enter DMZ. Check the tracker after infil.

For a Story Mission deployment, open Deploy → Story Missions, select an operation and read its briefing, recommended equipment and rewards before readying up. First OP specifically asks for Dynamic Operations, so select that deployment type when clearing the opening Orders page.

What order should you do MW4 DMZ story missions and Orders in?

Follow your current Orders page, then choose which chapter to tackle when the chapter selection opens. Underground ends with Shopping Hacks, Counterfeit with Silent Ledger, and Human Intel with Critical Extraction; pick the route whose rewards you want to pursue first.

Complete every Order on a page and successfully exfil before expecting the next page at the FOB. The rewards below belong to the whole page, so do not count the same cash or recipe again for each Order.

Underground: recipes and Operation Shopping Hacks

The first page follows Eye in the Sky → Watch for Bumps → Triangulation.

1. Eye in the Sky: capture one SAM site, let it destroy one cargo helicopter and loot one dropped crate. Stay close during capture, then use the Tac-Map to find the drop.
2. Watch for Bumps: steal one enemy vehicle, repair and refuel it at a gas station, then run over seven enemies. Park beside the pumps for servicing.
3. Triangulation: place transmitters on two radio towers and on La Grande Vie in Songdo Wharf. The building is a separate placement; use the MW4 DMZ Triangulation mission route when choosing your towers.

Page rewards: DDOS Recipe, Decoy Grenade Recipe, Night Vision Goggle Recipe and 20,000 DMZ Cash.

The next page follows Dead Battery → Death From Above → Operation Shopping Hacks.

1. Dead Battery: print a DDOS field upgrade and disable three enemy vehicles or drones with it.
2. Death From Above: distract one drone with a Decoy Grenade, destroy three drones and collect one Drone Motherboard.
3. Operation Shopping Hacks: complete the Story Mission through Deploy.

Page rewards: 20,000 DMZ Cash and ×1 Basic Restock Kit. Shooting drones handles the destruction objective; the DDOS objective needs disables with the field upgrade.

Counterfeit: Recon Drone and Operation Silent Ledger

The opening page follows Hostile Force → Robbery → Execute Intel.

1. Hostile Force: enter a Police Station, search 3 containers inside and eliminate 5 soldiers while inside. Look for blue buildings; the MW4 DMZ Police Station page covers this Order.
2. Robbery: open a safe and extract with 5,000 total backpack and loadout value. Once you have the value, protect the exfil rather than risking another fight.
3. Execute Intel: hack a UAV Tower in Deadtown, kill 5 North Korean soldiers pinged by it, and loot their counterfeit cash. Activate the tower before hunting the marked soldiers.

Page reward: Recon Drone Recipe.

On the following page, Eyes Everywhere asks you to print a Recon Drone and mark ten enemies in Heavenly Luck Casino. Bring it into Silent Ledger to combine casino objectives. The Operation Silent Ledger Order asks you to complete that Story Mission.

Page rewards: 20,000 DMZ Cash, ×1 Operator Rescue Beacon and ×1 Weapon Insurance Contract.

Human Intel: medical objectives and Operation Critical Extraction

The opening page follows Hunter → Triage Protocol → No One Left, and the chapter ends with Critical Extraction.

1. Hunter: climb a Hunt Lieutenant Tower and use its top terminal to locate the nearest Lieutenant.
2. Triage Protocol: head to a Clinic, loot a Bandage and collect 30 Chemicals. Clinics are green buildings with medical supplies; breaking down normal loot also supplies Chemicals.
3. No One Left: clear a Compound and collect the dropped Medical Extraction Intel. Bring armor for the fortified position.

What do MW4 DMZ story missions reward?

Story Missions list cash plus equipment, keys or deployment rewards, separately from Orders-page rewards. Silent Ledger lists a Gold Bar, alongside its other mission rewards.

Every mission below lists 25,000 DMZ Cash in its menu. The table gives the additional rewards; its row order is a mission list, rather than an instruction to complete every operation in that sequence.

Iron Citadel's LTV infil costs 25,000 DMZ Cash per later deployment; Grid Assault's Heli infil costs 50,000. Unlocking the requisition still leaves you with that deployment cost.

How do you finish each MW4 DMZ story mission?

Finish the operation's objective chain, including extracting its mission cargo when required. Critical mission items use the dedicated Mission Item slot, so you do not need to clear ordinary backpack slots for them.

Operation Critical Extraction

1. Approach Mirae General Hospital and find General Kang.
2. Move his hospital bed through the building, with a teammate covering the route.
3. Hold off enemies while the elevators open, then push the bed to the rooftop chopper.

Loading Kang completes the mission. Board the helicopter yourself to extract your carried loot. Bring a 2-Plate Armor Vest and Medkit.

Operation Silent Ledger

1. Start the casino's parking-level generator using its timing prompt.
2. Go to penthouse security, use the Parking Levels camera station and open the vault fence.
3. Take the B1/B2 Parking elevator down, plant the vault drill and defend it.
4. Loot the printing plates and extract them by chopper.

The optional Side Op counts twelve cash bags. Load them onto the truck and transfer them into the extraction chopper; extracting the plates does not bring along bags you leave behind. After earning the key, follow the MW4 DMZ Counting Room Vault page for your next vault trip.

Operation Shopping Hacks

1. Hack the encampment laptop, wait for analysis and use your objective's code to open mall security.
2. Explore the dark Security Annex, start its generator and decrypt the workbench laptop note.
3. Insert four Rare K9 Battery Cores to power the lab door.
4. Hack five lab computers, restart any showing ERROR DETECTED, then wait for the servers to reboot.
5. Loot the lab vault and follow the rooftop exfil markers.

Operation Iron Citadel

1. Find an Airbase Access Card at Chang-san Air Base, upgrade it at the marked server and collect it after the upgrade.
2. Enter the bunker, find the armory doors and recover the three keycode parts. Use your mission tracker's code at the keypad.
3. Collect the manifest, plant the armory explosives and move clear.
4. Plant charges on three strike aircraft, capture the SAM site and exfil with the manifest.

Operation Grid Assault

1. Find the drone control in The Grid.
2. Recover the first and second code segments, then compile the code.
3. Upload it and broadcast the kill code at the marked objective.

Wait for Mission Complete before leaving the objective. This operation earns the Heli infil unlock.

Operation Fallen Ember

1. Breach the reactor.
2. Secure the rods.
3. Extract the decontaminated rods.

This is an Extreme-threat operation. Prepare a 3-Plate Armor Vest, Medkit, Gas Mask and Radiation Blockers before deploying.

After a successful run, you have the mission's completion progress and rewards to prepare for your next deployment. You can replay Story Missions, select a random mission and pursue completion milestones. Your second completed Order opens the Boss Board; move to MW4 DMZ bosses when you want to turn that access into your next hunt.
